- What power supply connections does this board need to boot?
- You must connect both the standard 24-pin ATX lead and the 4-pin ATX 12V auxiliary lead at the same time. The board will not start up if either power connector is left unplugged. Standard ATX, SFX, or Flex-ATX power supplies with these leads work fine.
- Are the dual 10GbE X550 ports supported out of the box in pfSense and OPNsense?
- Yes, FreeBSD and Linux kernels include built-in native drivers for the Intel X550-AT2 chipset. Both pfSense and OPNsense detect the 10-gigabit RJ45 interfaces automatically during setup without extra driver installation. You can run them at full 10 Gbps speeds across standard Cat6a or Cat7 cabling.
- What storage can I connect to this motherboard?
- The board features 3 M.2 NVMe slots alongside connections for up to 6 SATA3 drives. It also has a built-in TF card reader slot and an onboard eMMC slot for internal boot storage. This allows you to run your primary operating system without taking up main drive bays.
