- What does this MESTEK tool do besides find breakers?
- It locates the right breaker for a circuit so you don't kill power to the wrong rooms. It also tests GFCI outlets and flags wiring faults like open ground, reversed hot and neutral, and open neutral. A lock indicator shows the detected breaker clearly.
- Does this work on my electrical system?
- It's built for 120V AC at 50/60Hz, which matches US residential and commercial wiring and standard outlets. It is not made for 230V European circuits. Confirm your system is 120V before use.
- Does it need batteries, and what powers each part?
- The transmitter plugs into a NEMA 5-15P outlet and runs off mains. The handheld receiver needs one 9V battery (6F22 type). Check whether that battery is in the box before you start testing.
