Match compressor pump parts to your pump type

Start with the pump, not the part. Many listings in this range are for oil-free or oil-less piston compressors, and the sleeve kits are sold by motor rating: 550W, 750W, 1100W and 1500W. Pick the option that matches your unit's rating, then check the sleeve dimensions on the listing.

Sleeve sizes on the data are 63.5 x 69 x 24.5mm for 550/600W, 63.5 x 69 x 47.5mm for 750/950/980W, and 63.5 x 69 x 50mm for 1100W. Measure your old sleeve before ordering. Compressor pump parts from different makers often look alike but differ in height or bore.

• Valve plate gasket sets: choose by Type A, B or C, or by 51, 65, 80, 90 or 95 type

Choose seals, rings and gaskets by wear point

Gaskets and seals fail first at the valve plate and cylinder head. The gasket sets here come as 3 pieces per set in plastic, in colour pairs such as green and black or blue and grey, so you can match the original set by sight.

Piston rings are listed as rubber piston ring and oil-free cylinder and piston ring types. Oil-free compressors run without lubricating oil, so confirm the ring suits oil-free service before fitting. Where a listing doesn't say, check with the supplier rather than assume. Replace gaskets and rings together when you strip the head, so you only open the pump once.

Pick valves by function, port size and power

Valves in this range do three jobs: check valves hold tank pressure, safety valves relieve it, and drain valves clear condensate. The brass safety valve is 1/4 NPT male with pressure relief and check valve functions, listed at 200 PSI. It uses Buna-N seals and runs from -20°C to 120°C.

Drain valves come as manual, timed electronic (220V) and pneumatic automatic types, with 1/2 port size on the electronic units. Automatic drain valves suit tanks and oil-water separator filters where nobody is on hand to open a manual valve. Check the thread standard: NPT and G sizes are not interchangeable, and the check valve option range runs 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and G1.

Fit intake filter silencers and reed valves correctly

The intake filter silencer blocks dust at the inlet and reduces compressor noise. The listed unit has a 16mm male thread, a 59mm body diameter and 33mm height, with a sponge filter element in a plastic body. Match the thread first, then the body size, so it clears the pump housing.

Reed valve plates control airflow into and out of the cylinder. Listings are for piston and oil-free units, so confirm your pump type before ordering. A worn filter element lets dust reach the cylinder and shortens ring and sleeve life.
