- What size wires can I use this heat shrink tubing on?
- This kit includes tubing with starting diameters from 1mm up to 6mm. Since it has a 2:1 shrink ratio, each tube will shrink to half its original size. It works best for small to medium wire gauges, DIY electronics, and minor household wiring repairs.
- What is the best way to shrink this tubing, and what temperature is required?
- You can use a standard heat gun or a mini blow torch to shrink the tubing. It starts shrinking at 70°C and reaches full recovery at 110°C. Be sure to apply heat evenly along the tube to avoid burning the polyolefin material.
- Can this heat shrink tubing handle high temperatures or outdoor exposure?
- This tubing safely operates in temperatures from -55°C up to 125°C. It offers good resistance to common fluids and moderate UV protection for outdoor use. However, it only absorbs 0.5% water, so it is not fully waterproof for submerged applications.
