- Why pick dual-wall adhesive tubing over regular heat shrink?
- The inner adhesive layer melts and flows when heated, then bonds to the wire for a waterproof seal. Plain single-wall tubing just shrinks and insulates without sealing out moisture. Use this where connections face water, weather, or vibration.
- What wire sizes will this fit?
- Unshrunk diameter runs from 4mm to 24mm, and the 4:1 shrink ratio lets it clamp down hard. That high ratio means it conforms over connectors and large step-downs in size. You get 1 meter, enough for several splices.
- What temperature do I need to shrink it?
- It starts shrinking around 70C and fully recovers near 110C. Use a heat gun and keep moving so the adhesive flows evenly out the ends. Once set, it handles service temps from -45C up to 125C.
