Quick Buying Advice When buying blank Blu-ray discs, consider the capacity and speed. This product offers 25 GB capacity and 2X write speed. Ensure your optical drive or Blu-ray drive is compatible with BD-RE discs. If you need to record once, BD-R discs are an alternative; if you need to rewrite, BD-RE is suitable. For cleaning a Blu-ray disc, use a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe from the centre outwards. Avoid abrasive materials. Typical Price Breakdown The cost of blank optical media varies based on type, capacity, and quantity. A single blank DVD disc might cost around 50p to £1.50, while a 25 GB BD-RE disc like this one would typically be more. Factors like rewritability and brand can also influence the price. Buying in a 5-pack, as with this product, generally offers a better per-disc price than purchasing single discs. Factors That Affect Price Several factors influence the price of blank optical media. Disc type is significant; BD-RE discs are generally more expensive than DVD-R or DVD+R discs. Capacity also plays a role, with 25 GB Blu-ray discs costing more than 4.7 GB or 8.5 GB DVDs. Write speed can also be a factor, as can whether the disc is rewritable. The quantity purchased, such as a 5-pack box, often reduces the per-disc cost.
