Blu-ray Disc for Archiving | 25GB BD-R | 6X Write Speed | 10-Pack

This 10-pack of Verbatim BD-R discs provides a way to archive important files or burn video. Each blank blu ray disc holds 25GB of data and can be written to once, making it a good choice for permanent, long-term storage of your content. Features and Benefits - 25GB Single-Layer Capacity - Each disc stores up to 25GB, enough for about two hours of high-definition video or thousands of high-resolution photos. - Write-Once Format - As BD-R (Recordable) discs, they prevent accidental erasure, which is good for creating permanent archives. This differs from rewritable BD-RE discs. - Hard Coat Protection - A special coating on the disc surface resists scratches, fingerprints, and dust, helping to prevent playback errors and data loss over time. - 6x Recording Speed - You can burn a full Verbatim BD-R 25GB disc quickly when using a compatible Blu-ray writer, saving you time on large backup projects. Applications - Data Archiving: Store large project files, system backups, or important family records on a physical medium for safekeeping. - Video Distribution: Burn home movies or event recordings to these Verbatim Blu-ray recordable discs for playback on standard Blu-ray players. - Photo Backups: Consolidate years of high-resolution photos onto a few discs, freeing up space on your primary hard drive. Quick Buying Advice When purchasing blank Blu-ray discs for archiving, prioritise BD-R (write-once) for permanent storage. This product is a 10-pack of 25GB BD-R discs with a 6X write speed, which is a good standard for general archiving. Ensure your optical drive or Blu-ray drive is compatible with BD-R media. If you are also looking for blank DVDs, consider DVD-R or DVD+R, noting their typical capacities of 4.7 GB or 8.5 GB. Always check the write speed compatibility with your ray drive. Typical Price Breakdown A 10-pack of 25GB BD-R Blu-ray discs with a 6X write speed, like this product, typically costs between £10 and £20. Individual discs would be proportionally more expensive per unit. For comparison, a blank DVD with a 4.7 GB capacity might cost around £0.50 to £1 per disc, often sold in larger spindles. Therefore, a blank DVD costs significantly less per disc than a Blu-ray disc due to the difference in storage capacity and technology. Factors That Affect Price The price of blank Blu-ray discs is primarily influenced by capacity, disc type (BD-R vs. BD-RE), and quantity. Larger capacities, like 50GB or 100GB, will be more expensive per disc than this 25GB BD-R. Rewritable discs (BD-RE) also carry a higher price tag than write-once BD-R. Bulk purchases, such as this 10-pack, offer better value per disc than buying individually. Write speed, such as this product's 6X, has a minor impact on cost.
