- How much weight can this welding magnet hold?
- Maximum holding force is around 25kg, or about 55 lbs, from the neodymium magnet. That's enough to position most sheet and tubing hands-free while you tack weld. Keep the contact face clean, since rust or paint cuts the grip.
- What angles can I set with this magnetic holder?
- The pivot adjusts anywhere from 20 to 200 degrees, so you can hold inside and outside corners. You set the angle with the hex bolt and lock it in place. That covers most welding, soldering, and frame assembly setups.
- Will this magnet hold stainless or aluminum parts?
- It only grips ferrous metals like steel, since the hold comes from magnetism. Stainless and aluminum aren't magnetic, so it won't clamp them. Use it to position steel workpieces for welding or fabrication.
