Questions about this product

Will this surfacing bit work with my standard handheld router, or do I need a CNC machine?
You can use this bit on both CNC tables and handheld routers set up in a flattening jig. Just make sure your router has an 8mm or 12mm collet to match the shank. Your router also needs a motor rated at 2 horsepower or higher to safely run this large bit.
What speed and feed settings should I use to avoid burning the wood?
Run your router between 10,000 and 18,000 RPM when using this bit. For the best results, set your feed rate between 100 and 300 inches per minute depending on your wood species. Going too slow causes heat buildup, while going too fast can strain your motor.
How do I maintain the cutting edges when they start to get dull?
This bit features four-sided carbide inserts that you can rotate to a fresh edge when one gets dull. Once all four sides of an insert are worn, simply unscrew it and install a new square carbide insert. This saves you from having to buy a whole new bit or send it out for sharpening.
