- Does the MG996R work with Arduino?
- Yes, it takes a standard analog PWM signal, so it drives cleanly from an Arduino or most RC receivers. The 3-pin connector is JR/Futaba compatible. You'll want a separate 4.8V to 7.2V supply since the servo draws more than a board pin can give.
- How fast and how much voltage does it need?
- It runs on 4.8V to 7.2V DC and moves about 0.16 sec per 60° at 6V. Higher voltage in that range gives quicker, stronger response. The metal gear train holds up under load where plastic gears would strip.
- What can I build with this servo?
- It handles steering and throttle in RC cars and boats, plus control surfaces on model planes. The metal gears suit robotic arms and DIY automation that see real load. You can set it for 180° positioning or 360° continuous rotation.
