- What can the Mastech MS6818 find for me?
- It traces and locates wires, cables, and metal pipes hidden in walls or underground. It also helps you spot breaks, shorts, and open circuits in a run. That makes fault-finding faster for both home and industrial jobs.
- How deep can this tracer detect a buried cable or pipe?
- In single-pole mode it reaches up to about 2.5m deep. Two-pole tracing works to roughly 0.5m, and mains voltage shows up to around 0.4m. Actual depth depends on soil and the surrounding metal.
- Does it come with both a transmitter and a receiver?
- Yes, you get a transmitter and a receiver unit together. The transmitter sends a 125 kHz signal into the line and the receiver picks it up so you can follow the path. The transmitter takes 6 AAA batteries or 9V DC, and the receiver uses one 9V battery.
