The 32 blades span from 0.02 mm up to 1.00 mm thick. In SAE terms that runs roughly 0.0008 to 0.040 inch. Each blade is marked in both units, so you can read whichever your spec calls for.
What jobs is this feeler gauge set good for?
It is handy for setting valve clearances and checking spark plug gaps. You slide a blade into the gap to feel a light drag at the right size. Mechanics also use it to set general component tolerances.
Will these blades rust or wear out quickly?
The blades are stainless steel, so they resist rust and hold their thickness over time. Typical hardness lands around HRC 40 to 50 for this type. The folding steel holder keeps them clean and protected between uses.
