- How accurate is this RTC over a year?
- The DS3231 is temperature-compensated and rated at ±2ppm from 0°C to +40°C. That works out to less than one minute of drift per year. It holds time far better than a basic DS1307 module.
- Can I use this with Arduino and a Raspberry Pi?
- Yes, it talks over the standard I2C two-wire bus, so it connects easily to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. It runs at 3.3V and works with 5V logic through the onboard regulator. Only two signal pins plus power and ground are needed.
- Does it have memory and a backup battery?
- It includes an AT24C32 32Kbit EEPROM for logging data or timestamps without an extra chip. A CR2032 holder keeps the clock running through main power loss. It also offers two programmable alarms and a square-wave output.
