- How do I install this tachometer on my engine?
- You mount the unit using screws or adhesive. Then, wrap the 1.2-meter inductive cable around your spark plug wire to pick up the signal. The device runs on an internal battery, so you don't need to hook it up to your engine's electrical system.
- Will this work on my lawn mower or motorcycle?
- Yes, this meter works on most small engines, including lawn mowers, motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. It senses RPM inductively through the spark plug wire. It handles engine speeds up to 99,999 RPM.
- Can this meter handle rain, and do I have to replace the whole unit when the battery dies?
- You don't have to throw the unit away when the battery dies. It uses a replaceable CR2450 battery that lasts about two years. Plus, the IP65 water-resistant housing keeps it safe from rain and dust during outdoor use.
