- Yes, these wing nuts are made from high-quality 304 stainless steel. This chemical makeup provides excellent corrosion resistance in damp, outdoor, or marine environments. The material is also generally non-magnetic and highly reusable.
- What thread sizes are available, and how large are the wings?
- We stock these DIN315 compliant nuts in standard metric sizes from M3 up to M12. The physical wing dimensions scale up with the thread size to give you proper leverage. For instance, the M6 wing span is about 24 to 30 millimeters, while the M10 spans 40 to 50 millimeters.
- Do I need tools to tighten these, and can they handle high-torque applications?
- These wing nuts are designed strictly for hand-tightening, so you don't need any tools. Since you tighten them by hand, they are best for low-torque applications. Don't use them for heavy structural loads that require high-torque mechanical tightening.
