- What wire sizes will this assortment fit, and how much does the tubing shrink?
- This assortment includes various diameters ranging from 1mm to 20mm to fit different wire gauges. Because of the 2:1 shrink ratio, the tubing will shrink down to exactly half of its original size. Just make sure your wire is slightly larger than the fully recovered size for a snug fit.
- What temperature do I need to apply to get this tubing to shrink properly?
- You need to apply a minimum temperature of 70°C to start the shrinking process. For a complete and tight shrink, heat the tubing to 110°C using a heat gun. Avoid using open flames to prevent uneven shrinking or damage to the polyolefin material.
- Can I use this heat shrink tubing for outdoor or high-heat electrical projects?
- Yes, this polyolefin tubing safely operates in temperatures from -55°C up to 125°C. It offers strong electrical insulation up to 15 kV/mm and resists common fluids, solvents, and water absorption. However, it is not completely waterproof since it lacks an inner adhesive lining.
