How does this wood moisture meter work to check my timber for dampness?
This WM710A meter uses a non-destructive, pinless (capacitive) method to detect moisture. You simply place the spherical sensor on the wood, and it measures the moisture content up to a depth of 40 mm without damaging the surface. It then displays the result on the colour LCD.
What is the accuracy of the wood moisture readings?
The meter provides a typical accuracy of ±0.5% MC for wood moisture within the 7% to 30% range. It measures wood moisture content from 0% to 99.9% MC. The device also features a 'Wettest Point Auto-Detection' function.
What do I need to buy separately to use this meter?
You will need to purchase 3 x AAA (1.5V) batteries separately, as they are not included with the meter. The device does not come with a backlight for the display.
