- What kinds of wiring faults does this tester find?
- It locates both short circuits and open circuits in vehicle wiring. The included signal locator lets you trace a cable through a harness to the break or fault. That makes it handy for chasing down dead lights or shorts.
- Will this work on my car, truck, or trailer?
- It covers 6V to 42V DC systems, so it fits most cars, trucks, and trailer wiring. It powers off the vehicle battery during use. Anything outside that voltage range, like 48V or higher systems, is out of scope.
- Is this meant for home mechanics or pro shops?
- Both. The tracing approach helps a DIYer find a trailer light fault and helps a pro chase harness shorts quickly. The ABS housing handles regular garage use from -10°C to 50°C. No deep electrical training is needed to follow the signal.
