- What can I do with this wire tool?
- It cuts cable, strips insulation, and crimps terminals, so one tool covers most basic wiring jobs. The self-adjusting jaws grip the wire and pull the insulation off automatically. It works well for home electrical, automotive, and DIY electronics.
- What wire sizes does it handle?
- It strips and crimps wire from 20 to 10 AWG, which is 0.5 to 6.0 mm in cross-section. The cutter also handles cable up to 6.0 mm. Anything thinner or thicker than that range is outside what these jaws are built for.
- How is this different from a manual stripper?
- The jaws adjust to the wire on their own, so you don't set a gauge by hand each time. That saves time when you strip a lot of wires in a row. A manual tool is cheaper but slower and needs more fiddling per cut.
