- You must align the negative lead, marked by a stripe on the casing, with the negative PCB pad. These radial-lead DIP components fit standard 2.5mm, 5.0mm, or 7.5mm board spacing. Do not reverse the polarity, or the capacitor will fail.
- What physical dimensions should I expect for different voltage and capacitance ratings?
- The physical size scales depending on your chosen voltage and capacitance rating. Smaller values start around 6mm wide and 11mm tall. Higher ratings, like 100V or 4700µF, can measure up to 16mm in diameter and 25mm in height.
- What are the temperature and lifespan limits for these electrolytic capacitors?
- These capacitors operate safely within a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. They have a rated endurance of 2000 hours when run at that maximum temperature. Running them cooler than 105°C will significantly extend their actual working lifespan in your circuit.
