- Can I use these in AC circuits, or what happens if I connect them backward?
- These are polarized capacitors, so you must only use them with DC voltage. Connecting them backward or exceeding their rated voltage can cause venting or catastrophic failure. Always check the polarity markings before powering your circuit.
- Will these capacitors fit on a standard breadboard or prototype PCB?
- With standard 2.54 mm lead spacing, these fit easily into breadboards and standard prototype PCBs. The 0.6 mm leads bend easily for custom mounting. Just align the longer positive lead with your positive circuit path.
- What are the temperature limits and lifespan of these capacitors?
- They run reliably in temperatures from -40°C up to +85°C. At their maximum temperature and voltage, expect a typical lifespan of 1,000 hours. Running them below their maximum ratings will help them last much longer.
