Selecting BSP Fittings and Thread Types

Selecting the correct thread profile prevents cross-threading and fluid bypass under system pressure. Sizing Hose Barb Fittings and Tail Connectors

Hose tail fittings require an exact match between the barb outside diameter and the flexible hose inside diameter to maintain an airtight seal. Compel offers hose barb fittings designed to accept tubing between 0.5-12mm ID and hose lines between 6-25mm. Smaller push-on lines, such as clear food grade tubing with 60 hardness ratings, seat smoothly over barb ribs for low-pressure fluid handling.

When installing barb tails on stainless steel or copper lines, secure flexible hose with mechanical clamps to prevent slip-off under operating surges. For drainage and wash systems, stainless steel connectors resist corrosion from detergents and industrial process washwater.
