- Will this base hold my dial indicator and bore gauge?
- Yes. The universal clamp fits most standard dial indicators, bore gauges, and comparators. The clamping hole is 8mm with a 6.5mm slot. The fine-adjustment mechanism lets you nudge the indicator into exact position.
- How strong is the magnet and what surfaces does it grip?
- The permanent magnet holds with about 600N of force on steel and iron, so it stays put for accurate readings. It only sticks to ferrous metal, not aluminum or stainless. An on/off switch lets you release it easily.
- How far can the arm reach when fully extended?
- Total height extends to roughly 350mm. The main post is 175mm and the fine-adjustment post adds another 150mm, both jointed at multiple pivot points. That gives plenty of reach for runout checks and part inspection.
