- How do I install this digital hour meter on my engine?
- This unit uses a simple inductive pickup system. You just wrap the 1.2-meter inductive cable around your spark plug wire. Secure the meter to your equipment using screws or the included adhesive backing.
- Will this tachometer work on any type of engine?
- It works with most gasoline engines, including those on lawn mowers, ATVs, and boats. However, it is not compatible with diesel engines because it requires a spark plug wire to detect the electrical pulse.
- Can I replace the battery when it dies, and is the unit fully waterproof?
- The internal CR2450 battery is sealed inside and cannot be replaced, but it lasts about two to three years. This fully sealed design gives the meter an IP68 waterproof rating. It easily handles wet outdoor conditions and operates in temperatures from -30°C up to 85°C.
