For point-of-use equipment, direct-plug wall adapters or inline bricks offer a simpler, touch-safe solution. These are common in 24W to 60W capacities, using standard DC barrel plugs like the 5.5x2.1mm standard. They provide a quick replacement option for field technicians.

Calculating Load Capacity and Thermal Limits

To prevent premature system failure, calculate your continuous load and apply a safe operating margin. For inductive or capacitive loads, choose a supply rated for at least 20% to 30% above your peak demand.
