- What are these stick-on standoffs actually used for?
- These are used to mount printed circuit boards (PCBs) inside an enclosure without needing screws. They create a fixed gap between the board and the mounting surface, which prevents short circuits and helps with cooling.
- What do the different model numbers like HC-5 and HC-8 mean?
- The number after 'HC-' is the standoff height in millimetres, which is the gap you'll get between your PCB and the surface. For example, an HC-5 gives a 5mm gap. All models fit a standard 3mm hole in the circuit board.
- How do you fit these? Do they need any special tools?
- No tools are needed for fitting. You just peel the backing off the adhesive base and stick it to your chassis, then the circuit board simply snaps onto the locking post at the top.
