The one measurement that matters on cabinet handles is the center-to-center distance between fixing holes. Replacing handles on existing doors means matching that spacing exactly; common centers are 96 mm, 128 mm, 160 mm and up to 384 mm on long pulls. Finish comes second: brushed aluminum hides fingerprints, natural wood warms flat-front kitchens.

• Measure center-to-center on the old handle before ordering, not overall length.
• Buy all handles for a room from one batch so the finish matches under light.
• Check screw length against door thickness; supplied screws assume standard 16 to 18 mm fronts.

Planning Storage and Organization That Actually Holds

Home storage solutions fail when the fixing is weaker than the load. Solid shelving and rail systems need wall anchors matched to the wall type: hollow-wall anchors for plasterboard, sleeve anchors for masonry. Inside cabinets, drawer slides are rated by extension and load; full-extension slides at 20 to 30 kg cover kitchen duty.

• Match anchors to the wall material; the shelf rating means nothing past the fixing.
• Choose full-extension drawer slides for kitchens so the back of the drawer is usable.
• Leave 10 percent spare capacity in any storage plan; full systems get overloaded.
