Tool life comes down to head material and handle fixings. High carbon steel heads keep an edge and resist bending in compacted soil, and full-tang or riveted heads outlive press-fit ones. For transplanting and bed work, a narrow rake or sifter does more precise work than a full-width lawn rake.
Most irrigation leaks come from mixed sizes, not bad parts. Standard garden systems run on 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch or 3/4 inch hose, and every connector, tap adapter and spray gun in the chain must match. Brass hose connectors take repeated coupling and UV exposure better than plastic; a drip irrigation kit needs a pressure reducer if fed from mains water.
Chainsaws, mowers and pressure washers fail on consumables: spark plugs, filters, carburetors, pump seals. Stocking the common wear parts for your machines turns a dead Saturday into a 20-minute fix. Model fitment matters more than brand; check the engine code on the machine plate against the listing.
