Robertson Square Drive Screwdriver
The Robertson screwdriver - invented by P.L. Robertson in 1908 in Ontario, Canada - has a tapered square tip that fits a matching square recess in the screw head. It was the first practical improvement over the flat head, and it remains the most popular screw drive system in Canadian construction.

Square drive socket adapters let you attach a socket wrench to a power drill or impact driver. These adapters have a 1/4" hex shank on one end and a square drive on the other. They are not the same tool as a Robertson screwdriver - they just share the "square drive" label.
