Ring Doorbell Screwdriver: The Exact Bit You Need

Compel Team

Ring Video Doorbells and Ring security cameras are held to their mounting brackets with security Torx screws - specifically to prevent theft. If you need to remove, reposition, or replace your Ring device, you need the right bit.

Which Screwdriver for Ring Doorbells?

Ring includes a T6 Security Torx bit (pin-in-Torx) in the box with every doorbell. This small star-shaped bit has a hole in the centre to accommodate the security pin in the screw. It fits Ring Video Doorbell 1, 2, 3, 3 Plus, 4, Battery, and Pro models.

Ring Floodlight Cameras and Spotlight Cameras use T15 Security Torx for the larger mounting hardware. These bits are not always included - you may need to purchase one separately.

Lost Your Ring Screwdriver?

It happens constantly - the tiny T6 bit from the box disappears into a junk drawer. Any T6 Security Torx bit (also labelled T6H or T6 tamper-resistant) will work. These are widely available in security bit sets or individually. A standard T6 Torx without the centre hole will not fit.

Pro Tip

Ring security screws are designed to be theft-deterrent, not tamper-proof. A T6 Security Torx bit is cheap and commonly available - it will not stop a determined thief, but it stops casual removal.
