While microSD cards often come with adapters to fit in SD slots, direct compatibility is always preferred for reliability.

Capacity is the next consideration. Cards are categorized by their storage size, which also dictates their format standard: SDHC (High Capacity) cards range up to 32GB, while SDXC (Extended Capacity) cards offer 64GB and more, with our catalog including options up to 1TB and beyond. Always verify the maximum capacity your device supports, as older hardware may not recognize larger SDXC cards.

Decoding Speed Classes for Performance-Applications

A memory card's speed class is crucial for applications involving data recording, especially high-resolution video. The rating indicates the minimum sustained write speed, which prevents data bottlenecks and recording errors. Different rating systems exist for different applications.

For general use and Full HD video, a Class 10 (C10) card is the baseline, offering a 10 MB/s minimum write speed. For 4K video recording, a card rated at UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) or Video Speed Class 30 (V30) is required, as both guarantee a minimum write speed of 30 MB/s. For professional, high-bitrate video or burst photography, look for V60 or higher. If you need to run software from the card, an Application Performance Class rating (A1 or A2) ensures faster random access speeds.
