Nylon has more stretch, making it suitable for recovery slings where shock absorption is needed, but less ideal for securing static cargo.
What is the difference between Breaking Strength and Maximum Weight Recommendation?
Maximum Weight Recommendation, also called Working Load Limit (WLL), is the maximum force a strap can safely handle in normal use. Breaking Strength is the force at which the component will fail. You must always operate within the WLL, which is a fraction of the breaking strength, to ensure a safe margin.
When should I use a ratchet strap instead of a bungee cord?
Use a ratchet strap for securing heavy or valuable cargo where high tension is needed to prevent any movement during transit. Bungee cords are only for light-duty, non-tasks like securing a tarp, as they provide low tension and stretch under load.
What load capacity do lifting suppliers recommend for lorry lashing?
