Every guide, chart and help page on this site is signed by one of four editorial desks. Each desk explains how its pages are written and checked.

Each guide starts from a keyword brief, is drafted against manufacturer data and published standards, and is checked against the products we actually stock before it goes live. Corrections ship with a new modified date.
Emma ClarkeReference DeskReference charts and calculatorsEmma looks after the reference charts and calculators. Every figure is copied from the named standard on the page rather than generated, and each page shows the date it was last checked. When a value looks wrong, the standard wins and the page gets fixed.
James WhitfieldEquipment DeskMachine guides, Equipment guidesJames edits the machine and equipment buying guides. The specifications on these pages are the declared figures from the live listings we hold, with a note wherever a number comes from a published standard instead. Pages are re-checked as the catalogue changes.
Sophie TurnerCustomer Care DeskHelp pagesSophie keeps the help pages in step with how orders, delivery, payments and returns really work. The figures on these pages come from the same configuration the checkout uses, so a policy change shows up here the same day.
